Yep, still here

Sorry I haven’t posted since the I-Con recap. I’ve got two big projects due at the end of this week/start of next week and I’ve been writing like mad every chance I get. The projects are going well (one is done other than a few stats and the other is on schedule to be finished by this weekend) but it hasn’t left much time for posting.

Things here are fine otherwise. Our son is teething, which is never fun, and he’s also allergic to the neighbor’s tree that extends to right in front of our bedroom window, so he’s been cranky and crying for the past week or so. And who can blame him, with a rash and welts and earaches and a runny nose and swollen gums? Ugh. Despite all this he’s had bouts of cheerfulness where he’ll sit and grin at us and laugh, which is adorable.

Our daughter is doing fine. She’s running around and being super-cute as always. Last night I was getting her ready for bed and she went over to her bookcase (I read her two books each night before bed and she gets to pick them) and said “I have a lot of books!” Then she gasped and said “I left two books in Mommy and Daddy’s room!” She turned around, came over to where I was sitting on her floor, patted me on the shoulder, and said “I’ll go get them, okay? Stay here. Stay in my room. Don’t move, Daddy.” Is it wrong that a part of me wants her to stay this way forever as my sweet little girl?

The lovely wife and I are doing fine. She’s been a bit sleep-deprived because of the infant and we’re both getting allergic reactions to that same tree, but otherwise we’re good. She’s been digging up the front and back lawns so she can plant soon, flowers in front and veggies in back, and she’s very excited about it.

Not a lot else, really. We saw Goblet of Fire this weekend and were underwhelmed. I saw V for Vendetta last week—I allowed myself an outing because I was caught up and even slightly ahead on work—and it was excellent. We tried watching that new show The Evidence but weren’t impressed, but that’s fine because we still have Lost, Veronica Mars, Supernatural, and CSI.

And I think that’s about it. :)
